Southeastern axes its “community panel”

community-panel-closureIn an email to participants today Southeastern have announced that their “Community Panel” is being closed with immediate effect. We’re not surprised: we have already written about the lack of engagement by Southeastern in the Panel and how there has been only one comment this year on how good or bad their services are. But we’re disappointed that there has been no effort to develop a new, more engaging, successor. Instead participants have been told that they should simply contact the out-sourced ‘Customer Services’ department in the Midlands.

Bat & Ball Update

Base for new ticket machineThere have been a number of changes recently at Bat & Ball, writes our correspondent Keith Alderman. The Permit to Travel machine has been removed and there is a new base and cabinet possibly for a ticket machine; in the meantime there is no way to buy a ticket. There is a new wheelchair ramp, but it’s not clear how it could be used. There is a new information board, but it’s sited so that you need to stand in mud or weeds in order to read it.

Wet conditions in Sevenoaks Tunnel cause long-term delays

In the new timetable starting Sunday 15 May Southeastern have added a minute to journeys between Sevenoaks and Hildenborough/Tonbridge. This is due to conditions in Sevenoaks Tunnel. We have been investigating.
