Young people aged 16-18 are now required to be in education or an apprenticeship scheme. But they have to pay their own travel costs. Sevenoaks Youth Council are investigating and are asking families affected – not just in Sevenoaks – to respond to a quick survey.

For years we have been pressing for a second “Ticket Vending Machine” at the busy Kippington entrance to the station.
We finally secured agreement from Southeastern last summer. Now, after nine months of inexplicable further delay, the new machine has been installed and switched on.
Unlike the existing machine it is anonymous, and it does not take cash. But it is a welcome step forward.

I recently made an enquiry on the National Rail Enquiries Website for the recommended journey from Bat & Ball to Tilbury Riverside. I expected to be advised to travel to either London Bridge or Cannon Street via Sevenoaks then transfer to Fenchurch Street and travel to Tilbury Town by c2c and change there on to the bus service to Tilbury Riverside. However all the suggested routes were by the Gravesend to Tilbury ferry!
