We’re organising an “on train” discussion about commuting by rail on Southeastern as part of BBC Radio Kent’s rail travel feature on Monday 13 October.
We’ll meet at Sevenoaks station at around 0730 for some stationary interviews, and then take the 0803 train with BBC reporter Adam Dowling via Chelsfield to London Bridge (0829), Waterloo East (0834) and Charing Cross (0840). We’ve picked that train as the best compromise to involve both City and West End commuters – and in the hope that we might get some seats!
We’ll be discussing fares, service reliability, passenger information, the impact of the London Bridge rebuilding, refreshments on trains, and station facilities. We will also be discussing the Government’s decision to award Southeastern another four-year contract to run the services, and whether the takeover by Boris would have been better for long-suffering commuters. In short, this is a chance to have your say.
We hope that as many as possible of SRTA’s members and supporters will want to take part. If you do, please email us at secretary [at] srta [dot] org [dot] uk with your name, mobile phone number and the subjects you would like to raise, and we will let you have the detailed arrangements.
