On Monday evening 25 January at 1830 on BBC Two the latest edition of “Great Railway Journeys” sees Michael Portillo journey from Ashford to Sevenoaks, ending the programme at Knole.

Michael will be very welcome to enjoy The Final Days of Southeastern. We particularly hope that he enjoys the experience of standing from Paddock Wood because coaches have been “stolen” for the Dover-Ramsgate shuttle, that the temperature on his train is not “too hot” or “too cold” and that he can read his ticket.

If he can fix the ground-floor lighting at the Kippington entrance then that would be great too.
