Twitter’s Reaction to Southeastern MD’s claim of “no particular reports of overcrowding”
That’s not what his customers on Twitter seem to think:
Unbelievable “@SevenoaksRailTA: “We had no particular reports of overcrowding” last week, says @se_railway MD http://t.co/T9m5b17mGf”
— PETER FLEMING (@dmontfort) January 18, 2015
@SevenoaksRailTA @Se_Railway David S is clearly insane or in denial…no reports of overcrowding….that’s a direct LIE
— James Crawley (@jecrawley) January 18, 2015
@SevenoaksRailTA what a joke @Se_Railway. This is a complaint about overcrowding. Standing room only every PM from LB to Tonbridge now.

@SevenoaksRailTA @Se_Railway is he taking the piss?

@SevenoaksRailTA @HelenNewman @Se_Railway Goodness me! I don’t like to use the word “liar” but in this instance, MD of @southeastern is one

@SevenoaksRailTA @DartfordRailTA @Se_Railway that’s rubbish
— Simon Lock (@SimonLock74) January 19, 2015
@SevenoaksRailTA @Se_Railway He obviously doesn’t use his own railway.
— Bobajobbob (@Bobajobbob) January 19, 2015
@SevenoaksRailTA @Se_Railway so clearly the feedback isn't being reported. There were serious problems at Lewisham last wk
— Hayley Fletcher (@HayleyCFletcher) January 19, 2015
Does the @Se_Railway MD live in a bubble? "no particular reports of overcrowding" Really? What reports does he get then?
— Legal Sec (@KarenHarding10) January 19, 2015
,@Se_Railway For your misinformed MD. Overcrowding on the 8:04 from Mottingham pic.twitter.com/pTSgrmkHOG
— Sally Strawberry (@SallyAllbeury) January 19, 2015
@SevenoaksRailTA @Se_Railway the MD didn't check whats said by his workers who last week told us they were reviewing overcrowding comments
— Nikki Bailey (@sugarless73) January 20, 2015
Do you think Mr Statham is right? Or did you experience any over-crowding on Southeastern services last week? Please let us know by using the comments box below!

Are you sure he’s the MD? The words “managing director” don’t seem to have much to do with “management” or “direction” did he read his job description?
Stopping trains in the evening seem really, really busy (esp. around Lewisham). I do think that reports from ‘the field’ aren’t getting back to base as quickly as they should be (or the MD’s team aren’t briefing him to save their own jobs)…
Rarely have I heard a more misinformed comment. Was this Mr Statham’s Gerard Ratner moment? On three trains i travelled on last week the conductors made announcements referring to ‘serve overcrowding’ Given how out of touch he appears to be perhaps Mr Statham should visit LB or CS in the evening peak or travel on a Sevenoaks to CS train in the morning peak. An apology to commuters would be highly appropriate for these inappropriate comments.
